  Some patients stay with us—not just in memory, but in spirit. Their struggles, their triumphs, their transformation... they remind us why we do what we do. He was young when stroke changed everything. But instead of fighting back, he withdrew. By the time he came to us, a whole year had passed. A year spent in isolation—physically present, but emotionally locked away. He had placed himself under house arrest, refusing to face the world or accept his condition. Anger consumed him. He pushed people away. His parents were exhausted—drained from running from hospital to hospital, heartbroken from watching their son spiral into silence. I still remember the day they cried in front of me, desperate for something to change. He had  spastic hemiparesis. His right arm was the biggest hurdle—stiff, spastic, and lacking voluntary control.
